Hi there, yogis! Many of us reach a point in our yoga journey when it's helpful (or necessary) to track our progress. In my RYT200 training, we had to attend various yoga classes and provide our reflections. I'm a Pitta dosha, so I love an excuse to make a template. As I get ready to kick-off the final session of my online summer yoga camps, I'm excited to share this one-page yoga class reflection sheet made for my students. You're welcome to use it, too, fellow yogis!
This reflection page is intended to capture all the essential data a yoga student might need:

Date: If you're tracking how regularly you practice, this is a key detail!
Class: Vinyasa Flow, CorePower, Restorative, Kundalini, etc. Anything goes! Tracking the classes you attend (or view, if you're an online yogi) can help identify patterns, such as a preference for attending Yin Yoga classes.
Location: Did you attend in person or online? Was it in a studio or outdoors? Details here can help you return to classes you enjoy, or find others that are held in a similar environment.
Class duration: Was this a quick thirty-minute stretch, or a full 90-minute session? Tracking the duration of your classes as well as the frequency can provide more in-depth data about your practice habits.
Thoughts & Notes: Whatever is on your mind goes here, yogis :)
Poses to Practice Again: These could be favorites that left you feeling great, or perhaps poses that offer a challenge. Which poses are you eager to practice again? Which do you need to practice again?
All My Class Feels: We can experience a range of emotions throughout a yoga class, whereas other times our emotions fluctuate only slightly during a session. Tracking how you feel during your practice can help identify patterns that could later become useful. For example, if you notice that classes incorporating a lot of sun salutations often leave you feeling energized, you might try practicing sun salutations on your own when you need a nice energy boost.
Describe this Class/Yoga Style: The class might be called one thing in its title (Vinyasa Yoga Flow, Sunrise Yoga, Chair Yoga for Seniors, etc.), but how would you describe it? Put your practice into your own words here. This is especially helpful if you come across classes that are similar in style, but perhaps go by different names in different places. The title "Bikram" in a class is specific to the training and licensing at Bikram-affiliated studios in the US, whereas a studio or instructor offering "Hot 26" could be providing the same sequence of poses in a heated studio without using a trademarked name in the class title. Going beyond the class title and describing it can help you discover other classes that might fit your style, too.
Things I Did Well: Give yourself some credit! Did you finally enjoy a Savasana without getting distracted by a to-do list? Did you find joy in Triangle Pose? What went well?
Next Steps: Will you return for another class? Try a different style? What is the next small step in your yoga journey?
My Rating of the Class: Be honest! How much did you love it? Come back to see if your thoughts about the class change over time and with further practice.
